Overcoming Obstacles

Every day we experience obstacles in our lives. Sometimes they’re actual physical things and sometimes they’re psychological. They can happen by chance or because of something we’ve set into motion. Either way they’re obstacles, and along with them they bring fear, worry, anger and doubt. But we have a choice.

There are really only two reactions to obstacles:

1. Resignation, quiet acceptance. A coma like state of consciousness resulting in a paralyzation of your life. An attempt to escape through alcohol, drugs, etc.

2. Inner resolution. An attitude of persevering, to overcome. Gaining power.

H. Jackson Brown said it well:

“In the confrontation between the stream and the rock, the stream always wins-not through strength, but by perseverance.”

As Christians, we are not alone.

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Mark 5:36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Do not be afraid; only believe."

Divine love gives us the power to grow free and rise above all of life’s obstacles.

Remember to see obstacles as opportunities for growth, for learning, for loving!

I’ve posted a video of two people who chose to rise above their very pressing circumstances, and dance!
