Sobered by the Moon

One of the things that constantly amazes me is the beauty of God's creation!

While driving home today on the highway I was completely taken aback by the moon. It was a gorgeous bright neon fuschia with a thin lighter line of fuschia along the bottom of it. Puffed up in comparison to its normal size and appearing elongated and wavy, it sat bordering the Thompson River. I have never seen the moon that color or shape before. Around it the sky was a haze of pinks with sheets of light blue, white, and brown.   I was sobered by the fact that the incredible beauty before me was directly due to the fires still burning in the area.

It reminded me of God’s goodness!

He can take the worst looking situation and turn it into something beautiful.  Similarly, He sees the beauty in the chaos of our lives and He works in us to change it. Things happen, and though there is forgiveness, we still sometimes suffer the consequences. Yet through those consequences we learn and grow and become more like Him.

It’s amazing really. It makes me wonder like David did, "what is man that Thou art mindful of him?" How intricate are His ways. They are truly past finding out. So I won’t even try...I’ll just enjoy that amazing moon for now.

  1. I saw a moon rise for the first time--out from dark clouds and up orange! My first thought was to grab the camera, catch the moon at its peak of the rise. Then I immediately thought better. If I did that, I would miss the moment of the rising (not to mention that the camera could never do this justice).

You can't help but think of God in His creation. Had I left, I would have missed Him speaking to me in that glorious moment. We can't let those pass by.

He spoke to you, and you speak Him to us--and that's wonderful! That's powerful!!

  2. God is good, all the time. He created all things! Isn't it amazing?

  3. He can take the worst looking situation and turn it into something beautiful.

    I'm hanging onto these words:)

  4. Isn't it amazing how we can see something we've never seen that way before. God just opens our eyes anew and boom..... we are transformed. Awesome! :O)

  5. Wow! How awesome it is to witness such profound beauty and experience the Almighty not in spite of, but because of the nearby devastation. God's ways are often not our ways, but His goodness never fails.

  6. I love looking at the moon and all of the other creations God made.

I really appreciate your insights! Thanks for visiting!
