Life certainly isn’t as simple as it used to be, and in this high tech world where life was supposed to be easier, it's getting harder all the time! My father-in-law loves to reminisce about the good old days. “I only made $25 a week back then, you know” he would say. That’s quite a revelation until you consider that rent was only $7 a month! Can we truly compare those days with today, or are things just different now? He lived in the beginning of the age of knowledge. However, today we live in a world that is full of knowledge but completely out of control.
Mortgages can now go forty years, gas prices are forcing people to find more cost effective means, and food prices are soaring with no end in sight. Service providers have added creatively titled fees in place of price hikes, as if to fool us. Many have lost their jobs and are struggling to make ends meet. Crime looms in every major city, and “because the sentence against and evil work is not executed speedily, it is fully set in the hearts of men to do evil.” According to the world’s experts, the future outlook isn’t encouraging either. This is further confirmed by the Bible.
Through all this craziness, we need a place of solace where things can begin to make sense again; a place where the world becomes a distant memory and words are not necessary…because we are known. A place we can rest our heads and sigh deeply, knowing we are safe, knowing there is hope.
More than ever before, we need someone to turn to that understands and can ease our hearts and minds. We long for someone who can tell us there is a light at the end of this dark future and can make it all right again. Our current temporary world will find its temporary answers in a mere man.
This man will promise them a brave new world order…but he will fail.
Can a man save the world without sacrificing himself!
Rest assured, there is such a Person. He has met these criteria long ago and can therefore meet our needs. He is always available and always, always anticipates our time with Him. He knows us better than we know ourselves, for it was He who created us.
So I ask, won’t you come and rest with me in my Father’s arms? He is the way, the truth, and the life. He will never fail you nor let go His hold of you, no never. He is faithful and trustworthy. He is love.
Come... rest with me in my Father’s arms.
He longs to hold you, restore you, and give you hope in your final outcome!
